Blacktip sharks are most common in NC waters in the spring and summer; however, they can be spotted year round (especially around the near-shore wrecks and artificial reefs). Blacktips grow to over 6 feet long, and offer all the qualities of a top-notch sportfish: a strong bite and numerous drag-screaming runs over the course of a battle. A good spot to locate blacktip sharks is near a large school of bait. These predators are never too far from an easy meal.
